Like many on here I have been through a TON of pedals boutique and otherwise and right now the two overdrives on my board are a Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde and Open Road.
I have found that the Open Road can have a little too much low end on some rigs but with what I am currently playing it is really dialed in perfect for that transparent drive sound. I had one and it is a great pedal. It did not sound at all like my VS DoubleTrouble which is two 808s in one. If you like the Open Road I highly recommend you get the Open Road.

It was nearly the Boss OD3 but in the end the Visual Sound Open Road won out. The Open Road actually sounds quite like the OD3 but as many people have found it cleans up very nicely on higher gain and certainly much more cleanly than the OD3. Play a sixstring chord and all the notes ring through.

Visual Sounds newest overdrive unit is a refinement of the companys earlier Route 808 Overdrive which itself was a wellcrafted clone of the classic Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer. The Open Road Overdrive is a new animal entirely primarily because it addresses the shortcomings in its predecessors. This is a used Visual Sound Open Road cosmetically in good condition and is fully functional.
